Mark Khaisman (Independent Research)

These are some really interesting work made just using brown packing tape, and layering it so that it has different tonal range, to build up the image, which are then back lit, so the light shines though the thin layers of tape more than the rest. I'm putting this work up because I found the use of a material that's normally over looked, and seen as just a packing material, interesting because it uses the every day in a different way and creates something which is amazing and sticking, I also liked how it incorporated light into the work by shining it though, and the though did occur to me that photographs could be made in a similar way to this, and could create interesting work, depending on how it was done, I also feel the amount of detail that the artist has got into the work just using brown tape and light is really amazing with the eye sockets, and the shading under the face, it's a really cool and interesting way of working an creating art.
