Peter Fecteau (Independent Research)

This is just a quick post, of something I found that I though was interesting and really good, I find it good just because of how he’s captured the likeness of the person with just the colours on the Rubik cube, and organizing them in a way which makes up the face, I also think the size of it is amazing and must have taken a lot of planning to know what colours need to go where. It’s also interesting to me because of how he’s taken something out of its natural context, something that’s normally used as a toy, but has been put into a different context to create a piece of art, which works amazingly well, it’s something to keep in mind when working and thinking about how to exhibit work in different ways, that might engage the audience more.

Salvador Dali (Independent Research)

I am putting some work of Salvador Dali on because it’s some of the first work that I knew and really liked, and has all ways been something that has inspired me, I think it’s particularly because the images at a glance don’t make sense, but if you look at them more and examine them you can find some meaning of the works, I’m also fond of surreal art, it’s something that I find interesting because it makes you think and it’s different, it’s different from reality but it often depicts things from the really world, a great example is of Dali’s is a painting of clocks and of them melting which to me resembles time, and how we lose track of it and it slips away from use. But that’s why I like work like this because it’s open to interpretation a lot, and it’s also very strange, it’s weird which I find more interesting that more conventional images or paintings. I’ve also included a photograph of Dali, I can’t remember who took it but I’ll try and find it, but I’ve included it because I thought it was an excellent example of how painting and painters can influence photographs, and with surreal art being something that I’m interested in it’s something for me to consider with work that I might want to do, and it’s also a really interesting photograph.

SOFLES - LIMITED FUN (Independent Research )

This is a video of some Graffiti, which is something that doesn't usually interest me, I've never really liked it, probably because of some of the stereotypes that are connected to it, and also because of the fact that most of the graffiti that I've seen so far has only been words badly sprayed across walls in under passes, and the only other examples I've seen have been people like Banksy's. but the work in this video is really, really good, the size that there able to work at is amazing with them covering entire walls with massive portraits, I also find it amazing how much detail and depth they can put into the works with just using spray cans and layering it and using their experience to create amazing works.
I also found it interesting how they created some work on the walls, then later came back and sprayed over it again making it so the only document of it, is this video, which is really strange because it only existed for that sort time and is now all most completely gone, which is really interesting.

Judith Ann (independent Research)

These are some amazing bits of art all done in just black paint of ink, and all done using the artists figures, some of which are very simple shapes and designs, and others like a couple of the examples that I’ve put on of pieces of art that cover entire walls, that as you can see look really amazing and knowing that there all done with just figures is somewhat more amazing that fact that she’s managed to get so much depth and detail into the work, by just using shapes and lines to create the work is amazing, and also the fact that it’s just built up using different tones of grey, and white, which she manages to create everything that you’d need in the image, creating the texture of the plants and the look of the water, so it’s some really amazing and interesting work.
