Amazing art on an IPad (Independent Research)

This is an amazing bit of art work, the amount of detail that the artist has managed to put into the work and how realistic that they’ve made it, using the traditional technics of laying up the image. Personally I thought it was faked but I searched the internet a bit and as far as I can see it is really. So not only is this an amazing video of someone painting using an Ipad and creating something that looks incredibly real, but it’s also an amazing example of how technology has come so far that things like this are possible, with the improvement of touchscreens, and how they’ve recreated the things that normal brushes and other artistic tool that normal brushes make, and in some why have started becoming better than more traditional ways of painting, and if not better it’s definitely as good as some paintings that I’ve seen in the national portrait gallery.

Marten Lange (Artist Talk)

the work of Lange's that I liked the most is Anomalies because I found it really striking, it was work shot at night using a flash gun to light objects, but usually looking out over landscapes and because of the fact that most of the light is coming from the flash gun, making the background of the image mostly black because of it, this to me created a really interesting look to the images, and it felt a little bit like being lost because you couldn't see more than a couple of meter's in front of the photographer.
I also found a lot of his other works interesting but also some of the points about publishing books and the things he side about his practices and his experiences though out college and uni.

(Ffotogallery) Trine Sondergaard, Stasis. (Visual Studies Trip)

 These are images from a body of work called Stasis, which was also displayed alongside some other works with the same idea of looking at things that have been left behind by time, I picked these images and particularly the “Interior” work because of the style of the photography, it’s something that I personal like, the use of place that have been abandoned by people or are empty and somewhat run down, and also the use of the empty environment, the door ways that could lead somewhere and the windows that you can’t see though, making a part of the image made by the view because they have to imagine what’s though the door or the window, I also like really simple images that don’t have much clutter in them and use the lines and shapes that are in the building, a lot like some of the work of Mark Powers  “The Treasury Project”.

I also find it interesting how the areas become more than just door and windows, and become somewhat more idolised and inspiring because of the fact that you can’t get there, a normal door if you want to know what’s though it you open it, but when you put that in a image it becomes something much more powerful, this is something I’m considering exploring with my work and how making an item unreachable but in sight could make it more than what it is.

RGB by Carnovsky (Independent Research)

These are some images form a series called RGB which is noticeable that the works are made up of the three base colours, for this particular work the artist have looked at nature and creating things related to that, and has taken inspiration texts on nature and natural history.

To create this I believe that they use projectors, to project the different layers and that’s why if you turn one layer of it’ll show you that one, but when all the layers are on it creates a mix where there overlapping which kind of melds the different things together, I really like the effect this has of the overlapping of it and the effect it creates, and how it can be changed.
